Memorial Park Golf Course

Overview and layout

Tom Doak's renovation reduced bunkers from 54 to 20, replacing many with steep grass slopes intended to keep the course playable for amateurs. 1

Back-nine finish includes a drivable par-4 13th, a short 15th fronted by a creek bank, and peninsula greens at 16 and 17 that sit across a lake from each other; the 18th is a roughly 500-yard par 4 with three greenside bunkers. 1

Renovation included new drainage and irrigation and a pond roughly tripled to about eight acres for stormwater. 2

Par 70, 7,412 yards on the published 2022 Houston Open scorecard (out 3,672 / in 3,740). 3

Handles about 60,000 rounds a year. 2
