Greenbelt trails

About 75 miles of greenbelt trails run behind the homes and connect the villages to schools, parks, pools and shopping. You can walk, run or bike across much of Kingwood without riding on a main road.

The forest

Kingwood was planned around its trees. Roughly 500 acres of private parks and nature preserves are woven through about 14,000 acres of community, and the main roads are lined with forest buffers so you rarely see rooftops from the street.

The country club

The Clubs of Kingwood includes the Island, Lake, Marsh and Forest courses at Kingwood Country Club, and Deerwood. Members have golf, tennis, fitness, pools and dining. Membership is private and separate from owning a home. I live on the Forest course and play these courses, so ask me anything about them.

Village parks and pools

Each village has its own parks and neighborhood pools for residents, more than twenty pools in all, plus community sports parks for soccer, baseball and softball.

River and lake access

River Grove Park has a boat launch on the San Jacinto River that leads out to Lake Houston. East End Park has nature trails and boardwalks through wetlands along the lake.

Town Center

Town Center Park hosts concerts and community events, with shops, restaurants and services around it and along Kingwood Drive.

Trail, park and acreage figures are from HAR.com's Kingwood community profile. Park access and club membership have their own rules and fees. Ask me how they apply to a specific home.
